Science tells us that identical twins share exact DNA. They are, or should be, an exact replica of one another. As an individual, who represents this scientific phenomenon, I see the world much differently than that of my twin brother. It is this difference that has sparked my interest in individuality. The world I see differs from the world my twin sees. He is inspired by art and the beauty unseen. He will create a masterpiece from nothing and is given inspiration from the most grotesque things he can find. For everything has beauty in his eyes based on the philosophy that God created it therefore it must have a purpose. We often judge by what we can see because society is based on first impressions but my brother sees more. He continues to inspire me and my own perspective. I, however, am inspired by the diversity I see in my day-to-day life. Though the culture I live in may seem to be white and norwegian it is far from that. I see no two people who share a similar life story for our experiences are similar but the way in which an individual perceives an event varies completely. The way in which we use those experiences within our own lives is what creates diversity and instills in us a new lesson or opportunity to learn. I believe in the diversity of the mind. This gift is something we ALL share and yet it is always overlooked. Our voices are equal in strength but the belief we have in ourselves and the impact we are capable of making can often vary. When I look at my younger brother, who shares a very similar talent for art that Logan does, he sees the world in yet a completely different way. When you apply this mentality to your own life, you begin to realize the importance of the perspective you have been given in this life. This is a gift that should be fully utilized and expressed. I never want someone to believe they are less of a person because they don't believe they can amount to anything. This life is filled with opportunity and when you find what makes you happy, it does not matter those around you and the life they lead. We live our lives for ourselves and no one else. Enjoy what this life has to offer and Dare to Believe. In the end we are all equal in the gifts we have been given but is how you choose to interpret and use those gifts that you have will create opportunity in this life.
